Student Finance Support
Student finance is an integral part of today’s economy. It has been well understood by the modern day philosophers and thinkers that education should be supported.
An educated population will lead to a prosperous nation. This is why most governments around the world support student finance.
Student finance support includes a lot of things e.g. scholarships, grants, tuition loans, regional loans and even maintenance loans. The important aspect here is that dates for these loans and grants can vary a lot. For example an international student has to apply early because his or her dates are a lot stringent as compared to a local student.
Local students can apply even after the date has passed by personally going up to the university office and apologizing for the delay(generally, this should not be done because this leaves a negative impact on the concerned authority). Additionally, dates for full time students and part time students are also different. It should be stressed on that full time students should apply as soon as possible because they need a lot more funding than part time students. Part time students can also arrange their funds by earning throughout the semester but full time students will not find enough time to earn through the semester.
Students should apply for student finance support before the university starts because this will give them an estimate of how much finds are needed by them before starting the semester. Some universities give the liberty to the students to apply for a financial support programme after the university has started. This is to encourage the disheartened students who had been left out before. Most universities give this option in the first year. This option also comes if a student who had been previously supported by this programme but later leaves the university, hence his financial assistance is transferred to another student.
Full time students need their financial assistance from the start hence they get it at the start of the semester while part time students get it after the sixth week of study. Nonetheless, students should always opt for scholarships first because they need not be returned to the university. Loans are a burden on the student and are can take long years to return. Many students are unable to return the loan and participate in long protests which have no effect on the lenders and hence the students are at great loss.
